Race Rules The Rosebud Run Sleddog Classic is run, for the most part, under the International Sled Dog Racing Association (ISDRA) Speed Race Rules. The Rosebud Run Sleddog Classic Race Rules contain some slight deviations from the ISDRA Speed Race Rules to address the trail and operation specific to the Rosebud Run Sled Dog Society and the Rosebud Run Sleddog Classic. Many of the deviations from the ISDRA Speed Race Rules are exclusions of rules pertaining to group (mass) starts and rules pertaining to sled dog races featuring more than 6-dog teams. A complete set of the Rosebud Run Sleddog Classic Race Rules and the ISDRA Speed Race Rules are available in portable document format (pdf) through the following links.
ISDRA Speed Race Rules (October 2008 Revision) Registration All competitors wishing to participate in the Rosebud Run Sleddog Classic sprint races must register on-line prior to 6 PM of the Wednesday before the races (see Registration). The Rosebud Run Sled Dog Society will accept registrations up until the close of the Musher Check-in on the Friday before the races however, competitors registering after 6 PM of the Wednesday before the races will be charged a late entry penalty. The late entry penalty will be 50% of the regular entry fee for each class entered. No registration will be accepted after the Musher Check-in closes. See the Schedule page for dates and times.
Mandatory Check-in Registered participants must check-in at the Musher Check-in and attend the Mushers' Meeting on the Friday night before the races. See the Schedule page for dates and times. If a registered participant has road trouble or an emergency or other extenuating circumstance enroute to the Musher Check-in and will be unable to get to the Musher Check-in before it closes, the registered participant must notify the Rosebud Run Sled Dog Society via telephone that the participant will be late and the reason for being late. The Rosebud Run Sled Dog Society will evaluate the situation and make a ruling on the eligibility of the registered participant. If the registered participant is ruled to still be eligible to race, the Rosebud Run Sled Dog Society will make arrangements with the participant for an alternate Check-in and orientation. Failure of a registered participant to check-in at the Musher Check-in or to notify the Rosebud Run Sled Dog Society of being delayed will result in disqualification.
