All participants in the Junior Class will receive a prize.
The John Bates Memorial Trophy is awarded in memory of John Bates, Trail Boss of the 2006 Rosebud Run Sleddog Classic.
Any musher not in attendance at the awards ceremony to receive their prize money forfeits their prize money. Their forfeited prize money will be considered to be a donation to the hosting committee.

In the event that any class has more than 15 entrants who complete the two days of racing, prize money equivalent to the lowest prize level of that class will be paid to the position level equivalent to one half of the entrants who completed the two days of racing in that class. For example, if there are 20 entrants in the 6-Dog Open Class who completed the two days of racing, in addition to the prize schedule above, $75 will be also paid to the entrants placing 8th, 9th and 10th in the 6-Dog Open Class final standings.
In calculating one half of the entrants who completed the two days of racing, if the number of entrants completing the two days of racing is an odd number, the position paid to will be one half of the number of entrants completing the two days of racing plus one. For example, if there are 19 entrants completing the two days of racing in any class, prize money will be paid to the 10th position in that class.
