Each of the registrants must carry their own liability insurance with sufficient coverage to protect themselves and the Rosebud Run Sled Dog Society. The registration form will include a field for the registrant’s insurance broker and policy number. Each registrant must also sign a waiver indemnifying the Society of any responsibility to the health and well being of the mushers, their assistants, their dogs or their equipment.

As this event is being held primarily on privately owned land, the land owners will not be burdened with any additional insurance coverage fees resulting from their consent to provide their land for this use. Any additional insurance riders required by the individual private land owners will be paid by the Rosebud Run Sled Dog Society.

"Acts of Mother Nature" Weather Policy

The Rosebud Run Sled Dog Society understands the possibility that Didsbury and surrounding areas can be hit with a freak storm or Chinook. It is with this in mind that a weather policy for registrants is made. This policy outlines the guidelines.

1. If a storm hits on the day of the Mushers Meeting (Friday before), the hours that were allotted for Mushers Meeting will be increased on the start and the finish time.
2. If a storm hits on the day(s) of the race the following will occur:
1. An assessment of the facilities will be done by the Race Marshal. If at this time the facility is considered safe and operating, meaning the trail is negotiable, the race will proceed.
   OR
2. An assessment of the facilities will be done by the Race Marshal. If at this time the facility is considered not safe, i.e. the trail is not negotiable, the Rosebud Run Sled Dog Society will delay the race until such time as the facilities are deemed to be safe. If, throughout the scheduled two days of the race, the Race Marshal does not deem conditions to be safe, the race will be cancelled.
3. If a Chinook hits on the day(s) of the race or the days immediately preceding the race, an assessment of the facilities will be done by the Race Marshal and if, upon that assessment, the Race Marshal deems the trail to be unsafe for Mushers, the sled dogs or race equipment, the race will be cancelled. In this case, the Race Marshal may do this assessment at any time during the day(s) of racing and no more than 3 days preceding the race.
4. Refunds & Discounts - If the Race Marshal has deemed the facility to be safe there will be no refunds or discounts. A discount and/or refund will only be discussed when the "Rosebud Run" trail has been deemed to not be safe by the Race Marshal throughout both scheduled race days and no racing has been allowed by the Race Marshal. Discount and/or refund discussions will apply only to Musher entry fees.
5. In the event of catastrophic weather occurrences, the Rosebud Run Sled Dog Society advises all registrants to be familiar with their own insurance policies as the Rosebud Run Sled Dog Society will not be held responsible for damaged possessions.

Prize Money Policy

Any musher eligible to receive prize money in accordance with the Purse Distribution Structure, must be in attendance at the Awards Ceremony to receive his/her prize money. Any musher eligible to receive prize money who is not in attendance at the Awards Ceremony to receive their prize money, foregoing extenuating circumstances, forfeits their prize money. Such forfeited prize money shall be considered to be a donation to the Rosebud Run Sled Dog Society on behalf of the forfeiting musher. Extenuating circumstances that supercede forfeiture of the prize money is at the discreation of the Rosebud Run Sled Dog Society and must be communicated to the Race Manager for judgement prior to the Awards Ceremony.

Sponsorship Policy

The Rosebud Run Sled Dog Society shall accept sponsorship of the races from individuals, businesses or companies in the form of money, merchandise or gift-in-kind for the purposes of offsetting the cost of hosting the races. Recognition for sponsorship of the races shall follow a program as may, from time to time, be established by the Rosebud Run Sled Dog Society.

While the Rosebud Run Sled Dog Society shall make every effort to conduct the races each year, in the event that weather conditions are such that conducting the races in any given year is impossible, sponsorships received for that year's races shall be retained and utilized in the next year's race. In this case:

1. Sponsorship monies in excess of expenses incurred shall be retained by the Rosebud Run Sled Dog Society and applied to the next year's races,
2. Sponsorship merchandise shall be retained by the Rosebud Run Sled Dog Society and applied to the next year's races,
3. Gift-in-kind sponsorships shall be applied to the next year's races,
4. The sponsorship program of the year in which the races could not be conducted shall be carried forward to the next year's races unchanged, and
5. Sponsors of the races in the year where the races could not be conducted will be recognized in accordance with the Rosebud Run Sled Dog Society Sponsorship Program in the next year's races.
