In an effort to offset the cost of maintaining the race trail, facilitate trail improvements, allow hosting of events and activities, and move toward transforming the race trail and site to a year-round facility, the Society Board has established a membership structure and day-use fees. Funds generated through the sale of memberships will be used to enhance the race trail and facilitate activities and events conducted by the Society. The Annual Membership term coincides with the Society's fiscal year namely from June 1 to May 31 each year. Membership fees are not pro-rated. The Annual Membership fee may be adjusted at any General Membership meeting by majority vote of the general membership. You may apply for membership through our on-line Membership Application Form or by emailing Bill Windsor at bill@rosebudrun.ca.

The Rosebud Run Sleddog Society offers two means by which interested individuals may use the race site and/or trail; Annual Membership (see below) and Day-Use access (see Trail/Site Use).

The 2011/2012 season membership options are:

Team Member

The fee for a Team Member shall be $150.00 per year.

Includes spouse/children and the dog team that belongs to them.

Entitles the named Team Member to full membership benefits.

Skijor Member

The fee for a Skijor Member shall be $75.00 per year.

Includes one person and their dogs (1 or 2 dogs).

Entitles the named Skijor Member to full membership benefits.

Skier Member

The fee for a Skier Member shall be $40.00 per year.

Includes Skiers, Snowshoers, Runners and Walkers, one person, no dogs.

Entitles the named Skier Member to full membership benefits.

Non-Use Member

The fee for a Non-Use Member shall be $5.00 per year.

Includes anyone wanting to be a member but will not be using the trail or site.

Entitles the named Non-Use Member to full membership benefits.

A Team and Skijor Member in good standing shall:

1. Provide up-to-date and current vaccinations records (Rabies, Distemper, Parvovirus) for all dogs entering upon the Rosebud Run race site.
2. Have a vote on all business conducted at the Annual General Meeting of the Society at which the Team or Skijor Member is in attendance.
3. Have unlimited use of the Rosebud Run Race Trail subject to the following conditions:
   • The ambient temperature at the Race Trail is -1°C or lower/colder. (applies to groomed snow covered trail)
   • Only use the Race Trail when the trail is in adequate condition for safe passage and use.
4. Abide by the "Race Site Rules of Use" below.
5. Be provided, by the Society, a key or combination to unlock the padlock on the entrance gate.

A Skier Member in good standing shall:

1. Have a vote on all business conducted at the Annual General Meeting of the Society at which the Skier Member is in attendance.
2. Have unlimited use of the Rosebud Run Race Trail subject to the following conditions:
   • The ambient temperature at the Race Trail is -1°C or lower/colder. (applies to groomed snow covered trail)
   • Only use the trail for X-country skiing or snowshoeing on a groomed snow covered trail.
   • Only use the Race Trail when the trail is in adequate condition for safe passage and use.
3. Abide by the "Race Site Rules of Use" below.
4. Be provided, by the Society, a key or combination to unlock the padlock on the entrance gate.

A Non-Use Member in good standing shall:

1. Have a vote on all business conducted at the Annual General Meeting of the Society at which the Non-Use Member is in attendance.

For the purposes of Membership and the Member Liability Waiver, activities and events of the Society shall be defined as any and all activities and events conducted or hosted by the Society, including but not limited to races, competitions, Member days, trail and site work bees, making use of the race trail, trail maintenance, trail improvements, educational clinics, and any other activity taking place on or around the race trail and/or race site. The Society reserves the right to change the 'Race Site Rules of Use', for just cause, at any time without notice.

Race Site Rules of Use

1. Only Society Members in good standing and persons who have paid the day-use fee may use the Rosebud Run race trail and site.
2. All persons who are not a member in good standing with the Society must check-in at the Check-in Kiosk and pay the $10.00 per person per day day-use fee prior to using the site and/or trail.
3. Only persons who have signed (physically or electronically) the Rosebud Run Sleddog Society Liability Waiver are allowed to use the trail and/or site.
4. Site users must maintain valid and current personal liability insurance to use the trail and/or site.
5. Site users must provide up-to-date and current vaccination records (Rabies, Distemper, Parvovirus) for all dogs entering upon the Rosebud Run race site prior to accessing the site. Fax vaccination records to 403-335-2366 or email scanned copies to bill@rosebudrun.ca.
6. The site entrance gate must remain locked at all times except when entering or exiting the site.
7. Site users must stay on the groomed trail at all times.
8. Trail markers must not be altered in any way.
9. Parking shall be restricted to the designated parking area. Parking is not allowed in the entrance gate area.
10. Access to the trail is allowed only from the designated parking area.
11. No activity other than cross-country skiing, skijoring, pulka, dog sledding (including kicksledding), walking, jogging and mountain biking is allowed on the property. Once the race trail is snow groomed, walking, jogging nor mountain biking is allowed on the race trail.
12. No pets are allowed anywhere on the property except harnessed skijoring, pulka, and sledding sled dogs or other dogs on a secure leash.
13. No dog is to be allowed to run free. All dogs must be tethered and securly fastened to the owner's vehicle or harnessed prior to and while running the trail or securely leashed. If you have a dog(s) that will not be in the dog harness of the skijorer or sledder or on a secure leash, leave it / them at home.
14. No motorized vehicles, except trail maintenance equipment, are allowed anywhere on the property other than in the designated parking area.
15. No ATCs, ATVs or UTVs, except trail maintenance equipment, are allowed anywhere on the property.
16. No commercial activities or ventures may be conducted at the race site except those administered by the Rosebud Run Sleddog Society.
17. Trail maintenance equipment is only allowed on the property if the equipment is being operated by authorized personnel.
18. During times when sled dog teams, pulka teams and/or skijorers are on the trail, sled dog teams, pulka teams and skijorers always have the right-of-way.
19. Do not leave garbage and/or refuse at the Race Site. Take your garbage home for disposal.
20. The trail will be closed to all site users for 5 days prior to the Rosebud Run Sleddog Classic race and during the Classic race.
21. The trail may be closed to site users from time to time during special sled dog events and/or activities being hosted by the Society. In such a case, the closure will be posted on this website.
